VARTA ProMotive EFB Batteries

ProMotive EFB is the industrial vehicle range prepared for electrical consumption with the engine stopped, the typical scenario of a cab-over truck.

Technology

Applies reinforced electrolyte technology to the truck format: carbon additive, polyester separator and fixed plates to withstand vibration. Compared to a conventional SLI, it supports many more deep discharge cycles, which is exactly what happens when the driver spends the night in the cab with the refrigerator, the stationary heater or the television on.

Applications

• Long-haul trucks with cab rest
• Vehicles with stationary heater or autonomous climate control
• Fleets with high consumption with the engine stopped
• Applications that combine starting and service

How to choose

If the truck spends nights with on-board consumption, an EFB compensates the extra cost compared to a SLI because it can withstand many more discharges. For even higher consumption, consider the ProMotive AGM range.

Naming and equivalences

ProMotive EFB keeps its name in the 2026 portfolio. Within the industrial vehicle family, it is positioned between ProMotive SLI, purely for starting, and ProMotive AGM, the one with maximum resistance.
