AGM and EFB: not every fleet is the same

A large share of modern rental vehicles have Start-Stop, which means they need an EFB or AGM battery. Fitting a conventional battery in a car that calls for AGM is an expensive mistake: it does not last, and it can leave Start-Stop out of action, with a warning on the dashboard and a complaint from the customer.

Many models also require the new battery to be registered with the control unit (BMS). If that is not done, the system keeps charging as though the old battery were still fitted and the new one degrades early.
