Kids' electric cars and motorbikes use small-format 6 V or 12 V VRLA lead-acid batteries. They usually wear out early due to incorrect charging, deep discharges (a child leaving the motor switched on) or exposure to extreme temperatures.

The best-selling standard formats are 6V 4Ah / 7Ah / 12Ah and 12V 7Ah / 10Ah / 12Ah, with 4.8 mm or 6.3 mm Faston terminals. Typical dimensions: 151×65×94 mm (12V-7Ah). Compatible with practically every ride-on toy brand: Peg-Pérego, Feber, Rollplay, Injusa, Smoby, Razor, Famosa, M-Toys.

How long they last

With moderate weekly use and correct charging: 2-3 years. With intensive daily use: 1-2 years. If the battery is left flat for months (typical after Christmas or a birthday), it sulphates and becomes unusable. Recharge it at least once a month even if the toy is not used.

Charging correctly

ALWAYS use the toy's original charger (usually 6V or 12V with 500 mA - 1A current). Charge for 8-12 hours after each use. Never charge for more than 24 hours straight — overcharging shortens the lifespan drastically. If you have lost the charger, we can advise you on the correct replacement.

Mandatory recycling

Used VRLA batteries are hazardous waste. We take them back free of charge in accordance with RD 106/2008. Do not throw them in the household bin.
