Dynamic AGM is VARTA's high-performance range for cars with start-stop systems and regenerative braking. It is the evolution of the well-known Silver Dynamic AGM.
AGM (Absorbent Glass Mat) technology keeps the electrolyte retained in a glass fiber separator instead of free liquid. This allows it to accept very fast charges — essential for harnessing energy from regenerative braking — and withstand up to three times more cycles than a conventional battery. Being sealed, it allows installation in the cabin or trunk.

An AGM can replace an EFB, but never the other way around: installing EFB where the manufacturer specified AGM drastically shortens the battery's life. Also check that the dimensions and mounting match, because many start-stop vehicles have the battery in a tight-fitting housing.
Dynamic AGM is the new designation of the VARTA Silver Dynamic AGM. It is the highest performance range for tourism and the only one recommended when the vehicle has start-stop with energy recovery during braking.
The VARTA Dynamic AGM. It is the same product with the updated name in the 2026 portfolio; the references and capabilities remain the same.
Yes. An AGM covers the performance of an EFB and exceeds it. What should not be done is the opposite: installing an EFB where the manufacturer specified AGM greatly shortens the battery's life.
In an AGM the electrolyte is absorbed in a glass fiber separator; in an EFB it remains liquid, with a carbon additive that reinforces the plate. The AGM accepts faster charges and supports approximately three times as many cycles as a conventional battery, compared to double for an EFB.
Yes. As it is sealed, it does not emit gases under normal usage conditions, which is why many manufacturers install it under a seat or in the trunk.
