Which battery does the Dacia Sandero take?
It depends on the engine and, above all, on whether your car has Start-Stop. All of them are 12 V. These are the most common indicative figures:

Two important warnings. First: if your Sandero has Start-Stop, the battery must be EFB or AGM. A conventional one will fit and start the car, but the constant cycling of the stop-start system sulphates it within months. Second: an AGM can always replace an EFB, but never the other way round. And remember these numbers are indicative: exact capacity and CCA vary with the year, trim level and equipment.

Does the Dacia Sandero need an EFB battery?
Only the versions with Start-Stop, mainly the 1.0 TCe and the ECO-G. On those, fitting a conventional battery is a mistake: the stop-start system subjects it to constant cycling that sulphates it within months. The 1.0 SCe versions without Start-Stop work perfectly well with a conventional battery of around 60 Ah.
My Sandero runs on LPG (ECO-G): does it need a special battery?
There is no such thing as a specific LPG battery. The ECO-G always starts on petrol and only then switches to gas, so the battery is the same as on the equivalent TCe version: EFB if it has Start-Stop. What you should not do is skimp on cranking current, because that petrol start happens every single time you start the car.
Does a new battery need registering on the Sandero?
Sandero models with Start-Stop have a sensor on the negative terminal, and the energy management system needs to know a new battery has been fitted so it charges it correctly. We do it during the same fitting, with our diagnostic equipment, at no extra cost.
How long does a Sandero battery last in Málaga?
With the warm coastal climate, a conventional battery typically gives 4 to 6 years and an EFB or AGM 5 to 7. If the car is a fleet or ride-hailing vehicle doing endless short city trips, expect the lower end of that range. From the fourth year onwards it is worth getting the free test done once a year.
