Tudor and Exide at our Málaga shop
We're an Official Varta Distributor, so Varta is the brand you'll see first on our shelves. But if your car came with a Tudor or an Exide, or you'd simply rather have one, there's no need to look elsewhere: we sell those too.
It works like this. You give us your number plate, we look up the exact battery and confirm availability. If we don't have it in the shop that day, we order it in and let you know when it arrives. We'd rather be straight with you than promise stock that isn't on the shelf.
Tudor and Exide: one family, two names
Tudor is a brand of the Exide group, which is why the two share technology and very similar ranges. Both make car batteries in the three technologies that matter:
- Conventional: for cars without Start-Stop.
- EFB: for basic Start-Stop, built to cope with frequent restarts.
- AGM: for advanced Start-Stop and cars with a heavy electrical load.
For our workshop view of both brands, read Exide and Tudor batteries: our review.
Choosing between Tudor, Exide and Varta
With the same technology, all three brands perform in much the same way. What decides whether a battery suits your car isn't the logo, it's getting the right specification:
- Capacity (Ah): what the car manufacturer specifies.
- Cold cranking amps (CCA): the same as the original or higher.
- Size: it has to fit the tray and the hold-down clamp.
- Polarity: the positive terminal on the correct side, or the cables won't reach.
- Technology: with Start-Stop, EFB or AGM, matching what the car had from the factory. An AGM should never be swapped for an EFB or a conventional battery.
| Your car | Technology | Typical lifespan |
|---|---|---|
| No Start-Stop | Conventional | 3 to 5 years |
| Basic Start-Stop | EFB | 3 to 6 years |
| Advanced Start-Stop or lots of electronics | AGM | 4 to 7 years |
These figures are a guide. Málaga's hot summers and short journeys wear out any battery faster, whatever the brand. If your car has Start-Stop, see our page on Start-Stop batteries in Málaga. To find the battery for your make of car, use our guide to car batteries by brand.

Tudor and Exide batteries in Málaga: FAQs

Yes. As well as Varta, which we're an Official Distributor for, we sell Tudor and Exide. Give us your number plate and we'll confirm the right battery and availability.
Do you have every Tudor and Exide battery in stock?
Not always. Ask us about the one you need: if it isn't in the shop, we'll order it and let you know when it arrives.
Can you fit a Tudor or Exide battery to my car?
Yes, at our shop with no appointment. It takes about 15 minutes and includes a free charging-system check and recycling of the old battery.
Which is better: Tudor, Exide or Varta?
With the same technology, they perform very similarly. What matters is the right specification: capacity, CCA, size, polarity and, with Start-Stop, EFB or AGM as the car requires.
How long does a Tudor or Exide battery last?
As a rough guide, a conventional battery lasts 3 to 5 years, an EFB 3 to 6 and an AGM 4 to 7. Heat and short trips shorten that.
