The Opel Astra battery is 12 V and runs around 60-70 Ah and 540-760 A depending on the engine: EFB on the Astra K with Start-Stop (1.0, 1.2 and 1.4 Turbo petrol and 1.6 CDTi diesel) and on the Astra L PureTech and BlueHDi, AGM on versions that left the factory that way and on the Astra L Plug-in Hybrid, and conventional only on the older Astra J and H without Start-Stop. How to know which one your Astra needs
Quick trick: look at the negative terminal. If there is a sensor with a connector coming off it (the battery state sensor), your Astra manages charging actively and needs EFB or AGM plus registering the new battery in the ECU; on the Astra L that registration is done via OBD. And if your car left the factory with AGM, you must keep AGM: you can go up from EFB to AGM, but never down from AGM to EFB. If you are unsure between generations or between the battery and the alternator, start with a free battery check.

Does the battery need coding when you change it on an Opel Astra?

My Astra is a Plug-in Hybrid, which 12 V battery does it take?
The Astra L Plug-in Hybrid has an auxiliary 12 V battery, usually AGM or EFB, which powers the ignition and the electronics but does not crank the engine: the high-voltage battery does that. Even so it is a critical part, because if that 12 V goes flat the car will not go to «READY» even with the traction battery charged. It has no cranking CCA as such, so we put «—» there and choose it by capacity and type.
My Astra came with AGM, can I fit an EFB and save money?
No. An AGM can replace an EFB, but never the other way round. If it left the factory with AGM it is because the car has a level of electrical load and cycling that an EFB cannot handle. Saving a few euros there usually turns out expensive the following year.
How long does an Astra battery last in Málaga?
From 4 to 6 years for a conventional battery and 5 to 7 for an EFB or AGM. The coastal heat evaporates electrolyte and speeds up plate corrosion, so batteries here last on average less than in the north of Spain. If yours is over four years old, come by for the free test.
