At C/ La Orotava, 100 (San Luis industrial estate, next to Carretera de Cádiz) we have been fitting batteries for trucks, trailers, buses, industrial machinery and heavy commercial vehicles since 1999. We are an Official Varta Distributor and work on a first-come, first-served basis, with no appointment: we test your battery free of charge with Midtronics equipment and, if needed, replace it on the spot. We recycle the old one at no cost and issue a VAT invoice.

A truck demands far more than a car: cold starts on large-displacement engines, constant road vibration and standby loads (tachograph, refrigeration, hydraulics, tail lifts). That is why we fit high cranking-capacity batteries with plates and cases built to withstand vibration and deep cycling. If your vehicle runs at 24 V, a pair of 12 V batteries in series is fitted; always replace both at the same time so they age evenly.

Varta ProMotive SLI — high-capacity conventional

The robust, balanced choice for trucks and commercial vehicles without Start-Stop. It delivers strong cold cranking (CCA) and good vibration resistance. Ideal for delivery fleets, public works and vehicles with standard electrical demand.

Varta ProMotive EFB — Start-Stop and heavy cycling

Reinforced plates for trucks with Start-Stop and for transport with heavy standby loads (cab air conditioning, fridge units, hydraulics). It withstands many more charge and discharge cycles than a conventional battery. The choice for long-haul and intensive use.

Varta ProMotive AGM — maximum demand and vibration

AGM technology (electrolyte absorbed in a glass-fibre mat) for the toughest conditions: maximum vibration resistance, deep cycling and large loads with the engine off. Designed for high-end tractor units, heavily equipped buses and heavy machinery.

Which truck battery do I need?

A practical rule in Málaga: if your vehicle has no Start-Stop and normal demand, the ProMotive SLI is more than enough. For long-haul, Start-Stop or heavy standby equipment, step up to EFB. And for the harshest conditions (extreme vibration, continuous cycling, heavily equipped tractor units), AGM lasts longest. In order of resistance: AGM > EFB > conventional. We never fit a conventional battery where the manufacturer requires EFB or AGM.

Before recommending anything we test the real state of the battery and alternator free of charge with Midtronics equipment. A healthy battery reads 12.6-12.8 V at rest; below 12.4 V it is partially charged, and the alternator should charge between 13.8 and 14.7 V with the engine running. Bring yours in, or give us the plate and model and we will tell you what it takes.

We operate in catalogue mode: we do not sell online. For a truck, the pair of 24 V batteries is roughly 400-700 € as a guide, depending on capacity (Ah), technology (SLI/EFB/AGM) and brand.
