Home › Car batteries › Batteries by brand › Nissan › Juke Need a battery for your Nissan Juke in Málaga? The Juke is one of the most common compact SUVs on the city's streets, and not all its versions take the same battery: petrol, diesel and hybrid need fairly different ones. At Málaga Baterías (C/ La Orotava, 100, 29006 Málaga) we identify it from the number plate and change it on the spot, in about 15 minutes and with no appointment . Official Varta Distributor since 1999, free Midtronics test and recycling included. Call us on 952 31 01 18 .

Key facts

- Typical capacity: 45-70 Ah, depending on version and engine.

- Type: conventional or EFB on entry-level versions without Start-Stop; EFB or AGM on those that have it; on the Juke Hybrid, a 12 V service battery, AGM or EFB.

- Peculiarity: on the Juke Hybrid, the petrol engine is started by the high-voltage system, not the 12 V battery; if that 12 V battery goes flat, the car won't power up even if the traction battery is fully charged.

- Price with fitting: conventional 85-140 € , EFB 130-230 € , AGM 180-280 € , high-end AGM 280-380 € .

- Real service life in Málaga: 4-6 years for conventional and EFB, 5-7 years for AGM.

- Where: Málaga Baterías, C/ La Orotava, 100, 29006 Málaga. Fitted in about 15 minutes, no appointment. Official Varta Distributor since 1999.

Which battery does the Nissan Juke take?
The Juke has gone through three quite different stages: the Juke I (2010-2019) , with petrol and diesel engines and Start-Stop only on some trims; the Juke II (from 2019) , with Start-Stop as standard and higher standby power draw; and the Juke Hybrid E-Tech (from 2022) , a full hybrid that no longer has a conventional starter motor. Fitting the same battery to all three is an expensive mistake: each one calls for a different type.
Version Start-Stop Recommended type Indicative capacity / cranking
Juke I (2010-2019) 1.6 petrol Trim-dependent Conventional or EFB, trim-dependent 60-70 Ah / 550-640 A
Juke I (2010-2019) 1.5 dCi diesel Yes EFB Around 70 Ah / 680-720 A
Juke II (2019-) 1.0 DIG-T petrol Start-Stop Yes EFB (AGM as an upgrade) 65-70 Ah / 600-680 A
Juke Hybrid E-Tech (from 2022) Yes (hybrid) AGM or EFB (12 V service battery) 45-60 Ah / — (started via the high-voltage system)

These are indicative ranges : Nissan has fitted different capacities within the same engine depending on year, trim and market, and we're not going to invent a part number for you over the internet. What is firm: if your Juke has Start-Stop, it needs EFB or AGM , never a conventional one; and on the Juke Hybrid, the 12 V battery is an ordinary lead-acid service battery that needs the same care as in any other car —if it goes flat, the car won't start, even though it's not the one driving the wheels. You can move up from EFB to AGM; never drop from AGM to EFB. On the Juke Hybrid, cranking current (CCA) doesn't apply the same way it does on a conventional engine, because the petrol engine is started by the high-voltage system, not the 12 V battery. Confirm it with the number plate.
Golden rule
If your Nissan Juke has Start-Stop, it needs EFB or AGM; on the hybrid, the 12 V is a service battery that needs the same care: without it, the car won't start.
You can move up from EFB to AGM. Never go down from AGM to EFB. Never a conventional battery with Start-Stop.

How to find out which one is yours
Forget hunting for the part number on forums. Give us the number plate —from the quote form on this page, on WhatsApp or by calling 952 31 01 18 — and we'll confirm the type, the size and the final fitted price for your Juke's battery.
Want an idea first? Use the "which battery do I need?" test . And if what you want to know is whether yours will survive another summer, the free battery check in Málaga with Midtronics tells you in 5 minutes, no obligation: it measures real charge and health, not just a voltage reading.
Three details help narrow it down: year , engine (petrol, dCi diesel or Hybrid E-Tech) and whether the engine switches itself off at traffic lights (that's Start-Stop, and it changes the battery type; on the Hybrid, it changes the whole approach).

Signs it is time to replace it
The Juke has a fairly recognisable failure pattern, and it's almost always tied to city use:

- It won't start after a few days parked. A classic on Jukes used only at weekends or left in the garage over the holidays. The electronics keep drawing power at rest and, if the battery is already old, it doesn't make it.

- Lazy starts in the morning, fine in the afternoon. A sign of a battery that's short on charge: in the morning it's cold and flat; after some driving, the alternator has put back just enough.

- Start-Stop no longer kicks in at traffic lights. …
