The Dacia Sandero battery is 12 V and is around 60-70 Ah and 540-680 A depending on the version : a conventional battery of about 60 Ah on the 1.0 SCe without Start-Stop, and an EFB of 60-70 Ah on Start-Stop versions (1.0 TCe and ECO-G LPG). Earlier 1.5 dCi diesels call for around 70 Ah and 640-720 A. At Málaga Baterías (C/ La Orotava, 100, 29006 Málaga), Official Varta Distributor since 1999 , we check it free of charge and replace it without an appointment, in about 15 minutes . Guideline prices with fitting included: 85-140 € conventional, 130-230 € EFB and 180-280 € AGM.

The Dacia Sandero has been Spain's best-selling car for three years running, and in Málaga you see it everywhere: family cars, company fleets and a huge number of ride-hailing vehicles covering city miles every single day. That kind of use, combined with the coastal heat, is exactly what kills a battery fastest. If yours cranks slowly or the Start-Stop has given up, drop by C/ La Orotava, 100, 29006 Málaga : we test your battery free of charge and, if it needs replacing, we fit it on the spot, no appointment, in about 15 minutes .

Which battery does the Dacia Sandero take?

It depends on the engine and, above all, on whether your car has Start-Stop. All of them are 12 V . These are the most common indicative figures:

Version Approx. Ah Cranking (A) Technology Start-Stop
1.0 SCe (naturally aspirated petrol, no Start-Stop) 60 Ah 540-600 A Conventional No
1.0 TCe (turbo petrol, with Start-Stop) 60-70 Ah 600-680 A EFB Yes
ECO-G / Bi-Fuel (LPG) 60-70 Ah 600-680 A EFB Depends on version
1.5 dCi (diesel, earlier generations) 70 Ah 640-720 A Conventional or EFB Depends on version

Guideline figures: they vary with year, trim and equipment. “—” = we confirm it from your number plate.

Two important warnings. First: if your Sandero has Start-Stop, the battery must be EFB or AGM . A conventional one will fit and start the car, but the constant cycling of the stop-start system sulphates it within months. Second: an AGM can always replace an EFB, but never the other way round . And remember these numbers are indicative: exact capacity and CCA vary with the year, trim level and equipment.

How to find out which one is yours

You don't need to wrestle with the technical data sheet. Just give us the number plate — on WhatsApp or when you arrive at the shop — and we'll tell you exactly what your Sandero takes: capacity in Ah, cranking current in A, technology (conventional, EFB or AGM), polarity and case dimensions. If you'd rather check yourself, the label on the battery currently under the bonnet shows the Ah and CCA. You can also request a quote from the form on this page, or get a free battery check before deciding anything.

Signs it's time to replace it

- The engine turns over more slowly than usual from cold, especially after two or three days parked.

- Start-Stop stops working : it's the first symptom on TCe and ECO-G versions, and it shows up long before the car refuses to start.

- The Media Nav / Media Display screen reboots or goes dark when you turn the key.

- Windows and central locking feel sluggish.

- Your Sandero is a fleet or ride-hailing car doing back-to-back short city trips: the battery never fully recharges.

- It's more than 4 years old. In Málaga, because of the warm climate, a conventional battery lasts 4-6 years on average and an AGM 5-7 .
